Find the desired rink in the list below for directions and a map if needed. 3330 Northview Drive Bowie, MD 301-809-3090 Directions From Route 50, exit onto Route 197 South, Collington Road. At the first traffic light turn right onto Northview Drive (follow the Hospital signs). The rink is on the right about a mile down Northview drive at the entrance to Allen Pond Park. From Route 301, head west on Collington Road and turn left on Mitchellville Rd. Head south on Mitchellville Rd. to Northview Dr. on the right. The rink will be on your left. (Map) Facilities The rink has one ice surface. The officials dress in a small first aid room directly off the ice surface on the other side of the rink office to your right. 10610 Westlake Drive Bethesda, MD 301-365-2246 Directions Route 50 West to I-95/495 West (Capital Beltway) towards Baltimore/College Park. Continue on beltway and exit onto I-270 North. Proceed on I-270 and take exit 1 onto Route 187, Old Georgetown Road. Get in the left lane of the exit ramp and turn left onto Route 187 South. At the second light, turn right onto Democracy Boulevard. The first light past Montgomery Mall on the right, is Westlake Drive. Turn right onto Westlake Drive. Continue past Westlake Terrace for 2/10 mile and look for Park Entrance on the left. From Virginia, take the Beltway to I-270 and exit at Democracy Blvd. Follow the directions above. (Map) Facilities Cabin John has two ice surfaces. The referees dress in the first aid rooms just past the scorer’s tables. 6100 Connecticut Ave. Chevy Chase, MD 301-652-4100 Directions From the Capital Beltway, take exit 33 onto Connecticut Avenue. Stay in left lane of exit ramp and turn left at the light onto Connecticut Avenue. Proceed approximately 2 miles south on Connecticut. The entrance to the club will be on your right, immediately past the light at Bradley Lane. (Map) Facilities THIS IS AN OUTDOOR RINK! Dress accordingly. It is smaller in size than most rinks. The officials dress in a utility room next to the stairs to the country club dining room. The rink staff will open the door for you. 5876 Thunder Hill Rd. Columbia, MD 410-730-0322 Directions Route 3/301 North to exit for Route 32 West. Continue on Route 32 West and exit onto Broken Land Parkway towards the Columbia Town Center. At the fourth light, turn right onto Stevens Forest Road. Turn right onto Santiago Road to Oakland Mills Village Center. Rink is just ahead on the left. (Map) Facilities The rink has one ice surface. The officials dress in a room accessed through the men’s room. Go down the stairs and turn right. 10028 Ocean Gateway Easton, MD 410-822-7070 Directions Follow Rt. 50 through Annapolis and across the Bay Bridge and follow toward Easton. There will be one place where you will have to turn right to stay on Rt. 50 so watch the signs. The arena is approx. 5 miles north of Easton (before you get to Easton) on the right side of Rt. 50 opposite the Hog Neck Golf Course. (Map) Facilities The rink has one ice surface. The officials dress in a room off the right end of the rink. Players benches are on the opposite side of the rink from the timekeeper and penalty benches. 1288 Riverbend Way Frederick, MD 301-662-7362 Directions From I-70 West: Proceed on I-70 West to Route 15 North. Follow Route 15 North and take exit 26 East towards Walkerville. At the second light turn right onto Monocacy Blvd. Follow Monocacy to the end and turn right onto Riverbend Way. Rink is located next to the Exxon Station. (Map) Facilities The rink has two ice surfaces. The officials change in the boiler room at the end of the corridor leading to the second rink, just before the players’ locker rooms. 580 Security Road Hagerstown, MD 21740 301-766-9122 Directions Driving from the DC area: Take I 270 north to I 70 west. On I 70 west take exit 32b (Route 40 west). Continue on Route 40 west to Cleveland Ave. Turn right on Cleveland and go through 3 traffic lights. The road turns right, only direction it goes. The rink is then the first driveway on left. Driving from Baltimore area: I 70 west to exit 32b (Route 40 west). Continue on Route 40 west to Cleveland Ave. Turn right on Cleveland and go through 3 traffic lights. The road turns right, only direction it goes. The rink is then the first driveway on left. (Map) Facilities There is one locker room dedicated to officials and coaches. There are no shower facilities. The locker room has lockable lockers. Bring your own lock. The officials locker room can be locked if you trade in your car keys for the locker room key at the front desk. 1300 Governor Ct. Abingdon, MD 21009 410-612-1000 Directions Route 3/301 North to I-97 North. Continue on I-97 North and exit onto I-895 towards Harbor Tunnel. After tunnel stay on I-95 North to exit 77A. Take exit 77A turn left at the second light onto Route 7, Philadelphia Road. Take the second right onto Governor Court Road. The rink is a short distance down the road on your right. (Map) Facilities The rink has two ice surfaces. The officials dress in a room at the back of the facility with the compressor equipment. If the rink staff remembers to leave the back door open, you may park directly outside this room by driving all the way around the back of the building. 13800 Old Gunpowder Rd. Laurel, MD 301-953-0100 Directions From I-95 North towards Baltimore. Take exit onto Route 212 (Powder Mill Road) towards Beltsville. At the end of the exit ramp get into the left lane. Turn left at the first light onto Old Gunpowder Road. Rink is two miles down on the left. (Map) Facilities There are three ice surfaces. The referee’s dressing rooms are the first rooms on either side of the main rink, and a small storage room near the back rink. The main locker rooms have sinks, toilets and showers. Get the key from the rink staff at the front desk. 6101 Hillen Rd. Baltimore, MD 21239 410-444-1888 Directions From the Baltimore Beltway, I-695 West, take exit 30A, Route 41 South, Perring Parkway. Turn right onto Northern Parkway and follow a short distance to the first light. Turn right onto Hillen Road. Rink is on the immediate right. (Map) Facilities The rink has one ice surface. You must enter the building from the back corner of the arena, and walk down a ramp. The officials dress in a small locked room in the corner of the rink just beyond the players locker rooms. Turn left as soon as you enter the building. Get the key from the rink office or Zamboni driver, and plug in the space heater a few minutes before dressing. 84 Greenbury Point Road* Annapolis Md. 21402 410-263-9701 Directions The rink is not located on the grounds of the Academy, it is across the Severn River and there are no security gates or issues you have to face. You get to the rink off of Maryland Route 50, taking Exit 27 Route 2/450 exit, then bearing onto the Route 450 exit towards the Naval Academy. Go to the first traffic light and go left onto Route 648. There will be a left and straight split, straight will turn into Greenbury Point Road. Continue straight at the traffic light at Kinkaid Road and the rink will be about 3/4 of a mile on the right. Go slow, the speed limit is only 30 MPH and the Navy Police patrol this road frequently and often run radar. (Map) *The address above is that of the golf course located just across the street from the rink. The rink’s final address is unknown at this time. However, the phone number above is the rink’s number. Facilities The rink has one ice surface. You park in the paved lot on the right and walk down the maintenance road to the far side of the building on the right. There is a temporary entrance on the far corner of the building. For now you change in a small room just inside the door to your right (by the fire extinguisher). 5731 Cottonworth Ave. Baltimore, MD 21201 410-433-4970 (Office Phone) 410-433-2307 (Recorded Message) Directions From the South - Take I-95 North to 695 West (the Baltimore Beltway) toward Towson. Proceed to 83 South (Exit 23). Take 83 South (the Jones Falls Expressway or JFX toward Baltimore). Take the first exit off of I-83, which is for Northern Parkway exit. There is only one exit ramp for East and West. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Northern Parkway heading East. Stay on your left lane an Northern Parkway and prepare to turn left at the first intersection, which is Falls Rd (Shell and Exxon stations on far corners). Once on Falls Road, go to the second traffic light (the two lights are one very short block apart). Turn left at this second light onto Smith Ave. Take the first left off of Smith onto Cottonworth. Northwest is the first building on your left and it has a blue awning with "Northwest Ice Rink" on it. (Map) Facilities The rink has one ice surface. When you walk into the building, turn right towards the mirrored wall. There is a door in the mirrored wall with a sign marked "Pro Room". It is the door to the officials’ dressing room. Linwood St. Baltimore, MD 410-396-9304 Directions From I-95 North, take Route 295 North to Baltimore. Rt. 295 North becomes Russell Street as you enter the downtown area. Just beyone Camden Yards, turn right onto Pratt Street. Stay on Pratt Street and turn right onto Baltimore Street. Turn right onto Linwood Street. Rink is on right about halfway down Linwood Street. (Map) Facilities The rink has one ice surface. The officials dress beyond all player locker rooms at the end of the hallway. This rink is semi-outdoors as it is covered only by a tent-like structure. Dress warmly. The boards are not often in very good condition. 8781 Piney Orchard Parkway Odenton, MD 410-672-7013 Directions Take 32 East to the exit for Rt 175. Proceed East on 175 for 1 mile and turn right at the light onto Rt 170 Piney Orchard Pkwy. Follow 170 for 2.5 miles - rink will be on your left. (Map) Facilities There is one ice sheet. From I-695 (Balto. Beltway), take 795 (Northwest Expwy.) North. Get off at Exit 9-A (Rte. 140) and make a left at 1st light (towards 140 West). Make an immediate left on Mitchell Drive. This is just past the entrance to golf course/driving range. Follow this road back to the rink .(Map) When you enter the Sportsplex, the ice rink is to the right. When you walk into the ice rink you will pass four players locker rooms. The ref room is the last door on the left. Rockville Blades 50 Southlawn Court Rockville, MD 301 294-8101 Directions From I-270 North, take the Montrose Road exit but follow the signs to Tower Oaks Blvd. Take Tower Oaks north to Wootton Parkway. Turn right on Wootton Parkway. Wootton Parkway turns into Norbeck Road when it crosses Rockville Pike. After you cross Rockville Pike, watch the street signs and turn left on East Gude Drive about 1 mile past Rockville Pike. Head north on East Gude Drive for about 7/10s of a mile and turn right on Southlawn Lane. The rink is on Southlawn Ct. about 3/10 of a mile on your right. (Map) Facilities There are two ice surfaces. The referee dressing rooms are located in the middle of the locker room corridors. The dressing rooms have sinks, showers, and toilets. 1771 Tucker Rd. Oxon Hill, MD 301-265-1525 Directions Directions from points South: From the Capitol Beltway, take the Indian Head Highway exit, but turn east on Oxon Hill Road. Make a right at the first light on Livingston Road. Take an immediate left on Bock Road and proceed on Bock Road to St. Barnabas Road, about 3/10ths of a mile. Turn right on St. Barnabas Road then make a left on Tucker Road, just past the church. The Tucker Road rink is about a mile and a half on your left on Tucker Road. Directions from points North: Take Beltway Exit 4A MD-414 St. Barnabas Road. At first light, turn left on Brinkley Road and then make immediate right on to St. Barnabas Road. Travel approximately 1/2 mile and turn left on Tucker Road. Go 1 mile and turn left into Tucker Road Sports Complex. The rink is on your right. (Map) Facilities Tucker Road has one ice sheet. The referee changing room is the First Aid room immediately to your left upon entering the rink area. 3033 Waldorf Marketplace Waldorf, MD 20603 301-932-4348 Directions From Washington, DC: Beltway to Branch Ave./Rt-5 South (exit 7A) towards Waldorf. Proceed approx. 15 miles, bear to the right as Rt-5 will become Crain Hwy./US-301 South. Continue on US-301 South approx. 3.2 miles. At the 5th stoplight, turn right on Rt-228/Berry Road. Proceed approx. 0.4 mile and take a left at the 2nd light (Western Parkway). Take the next left into the Waldorf Marketplace. The Capital Clubhouse is located behind AC Moore. From Calvert County, MD: Rt-4 North to US-301 South (towards Waldorf). Proceed approx. 15 miles, bear to the right as Rt-5 will become Crain Highway/US-301 South. Continue on Rt-301 South approx. 3.2 miles. At the 5th stoplight, turn right on Rt-228/Berry Road. Proceed approx. 0.4 mile and take a left at the 2nd light (Western Parkway). Take the next left into the Waldorf Marketplace. The Capital Clubhouse is located behind AC Moore. From St. Mary’s County, MD: Rt-5 (Leonardtown Road) towards Waldorf. Cross over US-301 onto Rt-228/Berry Road. Proceed approx. 0.4 mile and take a left at the 2nd light (Western Parkway). Take the next left into the Waldorf Marketplace. The Capital Clubhouse is located behind AC Moore. (Map) Facilities The Capital Clubhouse has one ice sheet. Need info on referee changing facilities. (College Park) 5211 Calvert Rd. College Park, MD 301-277-3717 Directions From the Capitol Beltway, exit onto Route 201 South, Kenilworth Avenue. Stay on Kenilworth Avenue and turn right onto Calvert Road. The rink is 1/4 mile down on the left. (Map) Facilities This rink is open on three sides and gets very cold in the winter. Need help on the facilities. Orebaugh Ave. Wheaton, MD 301-649-3640 Directions From points East: Exit the Capitol Beltway at Route 193, University Boulevard towards Wheaton. Continue on University Boulevard and turn right onto Arcola Avenue. Follow Arcola Avenue for approximately 1 mile and you will see a sign near Orebaugh Avenue for Wheaton Regional Park. Turn right on Orebaugh. The indoor rink is in the park just past the ballfields. The outdoor rink is further into the park at the end of Orebaugh Ave. Follow the signs to the Dog Park. From Rockville or Northern Virginia: Take the Georgia Ave. exit off the Beltway, north towards Wheaton. Turn right on Arcola Ave, just past Wheaton Town Center. Watch for the signs to Wheaton Regional Park and turn left on Orebaugh. (Map) Facilities The new rink is fully enclosed. The referees dress in the first aid room. Turn left inside the door and the first aid room is just past the last door to the rink. The players locker rooms are on the other side of the rink. The outdoor rink is covered, but open on three sides. The officials dress in the first dressing room to the right in the corridor closest to the rink in the lobby. There have been reports that the rink, nets, and boards are in poor repair. Officials should be alert to any hazardous playing conditions and submit game reports to document any serious safety risks. In humid weather, the rink can be very foggy and officials should exercise judgment to ensure that the game can be played safely. |
